One last weekend at Crossroads, then it’s creek season Inbox

This marks my last weekend at Crossroads before my favourite time of year… camping season.
Taking weekends to ourselves while the weather is nice is how Mat and I use our “vacation time.”
While the rest of the year is full force and you’re likely to find me in-store every other weekend, from May through September, Kate and Debi take the reins of our weekend business. If you’ve been missing Debi while she’s been part-time with me at Crossroads, you’ll be happy to know she’s back full-time as of next weekend!
One of the great things about owning an eco-friendly store and refillery is that many of our products are safer for the environment—which means you can use them in your RV or cabin, worry-free.
As Mat and I start packing up to open the trailer, here are some must-haves from Greenbriar:
Ornata Summer Serenity Bug Spray and Patio Candle:
Since neither of us digs citronella, we created a custom blend of essential oils that are known to keep pests away. Best of all? It smells amazing! We have many people who simply use Summer Serenity as their signature scent. One client told me she uses it as her child’s “night-time spray” that he asks for every night! You can save your spray bottle and bring it in for a refill at Montgomery.
Rogerie Stemless Wine Glasses:
As our friends well know, we keep a tote full of every colour of these 3D-printed patio cups—made in Kelowna from 100% recycled plastics rescued from refrigerators and window frames destined for the landfill. All of our guests get to choose their colour (easier to keep track of their drink), and we don’t have to worry about wasteful Solo Cups or the glass variety going smashy-smashy.
Tanit Mineral Sunscreen:
This fabulous, moisturizing mineral sunscreen features prickly pear seed oil and rubs in beautifully. No messy white trace left behind, and it comes in a wheat straw squeeze tube—so even the container is petroleum-free.
Anointment’s Soothing Skin Ointment:
A staple at our house and at the trailer. This little miracle in a jar quickly soothes almost anything skin-related: cuts, scrapes, bruises, bug bites, wasp stings, hives, even random breakouts. A little goes a long way, so this jar will last you a while!
Silvapure Refresh Spray:
As much as I love camping, I’m not a fan of having my clothes smell like campfire smoke. Silvapure’s Refresh Spray is my secret weapon. With a fresh lime and peppermint scent and the magic of colloidal silver (with its antimicrobial properties), I simply spray my clothes down at the end of the night and that nasty campfire hangover smell is gone by morning. It’s also great to freshen up the air in close quarters like a trailer or cabin, and to spray down your furniture (inside and out) that’s been in storage all winter. Plus, it’s on the refill bar—so you know...
Roll Up Bamboo Toilet Paper:
Whether you’re trekking to an outhouse or using this in your trailer, you’re going to want to know about this product. Triple-ply rolls that are super soft, septic, RV, and marine safe—and don’t leave any fluff or bits behind. Strong thanks to bamboo fibre, but quick to degrade in water so nothing’s left behind.
The Rogerie Double Bar Travel Case:
This little travel case is great for your shampoo and conditioner bars—or your bar of soap. With an internal tray to keep your bar dry, the handy lid lets you travel to and from the outdoor shower, shower house, or even abroad, while keeping your bars tidy and ready to use.
These are just some of my top picks, but you can click here to check out the entire Eco Made Easy Camping Collection.
Besides camping news…
We just received (yesterday!) a whole new batch of Sebeana Cellulose Acetate Combs and Hair Clips. You can check out a few in the New Arrivals section below, or come visit me this weekend at Crossroads—or see Kate, who’s back this weekend at Montgomery!
Also: our amazing pop-up with Santé Dry Bottle Shop is coming to an end this month. While you won’t be able to shop his products at Greenbriar anymore, you can still order directly from drinksante.ca and select Greenbriar as a pick-up location. It’s been such a pleasure introducing you to Jon and his curated selection of non-alcoholic beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails. I hope you’ll continue to support him at his Crossroads location (right next to our booth!).
