From a heartwarming Aspera photoshoot to boxing up nearly 300 bath bombs, this week has been full of reminders of why Mat and I started Greenbriar Market in the first place—community, connection, and the love of supporting local.

And since today is officially Valentine’s Day, I figured there’s no better time to talk about local love—whether that’s for your partner, your best friend, yourself (highly recommend), or even your favourite small businesses.

At Greenbriar, we don’t just carry products—we carry people’s stories. From the ceramic artists to the skincare formulators, every maker we work with pours their heart into what they do.

So while today might be all about love, I think the best way to celebrate is by supporting the small businesses, creators, and dreamers who bring something truly special to our lives.

And that includes you. Every time you choose to shop small, you’re part of that love story.

Did you know that over 30 of the brands in our shop are from right here in Calgary and Alberta and approximate 60 Canadian brands total?  From hand-poured candles to ceramics, refillable skincare to artisan-crafted home goods, every product has a person (or a passionate duo, like Mat and me) behind it.

On Wednesday night, we hosted the most amazing group of people for our Non-Alcoholic Wine Pairing with Santé Dry Bottle Shop. Five wines, perfectly paired tapas, and some fantastic conversations—it was a night to remember!
